Visitor Types

This site has three types of visitors:
1. Clients: Our valued customers who have already decided to sign up for our services
2. Event Guests: The people our clients have invited to their events.
3. Visitors: Those of you who are visiting the site for the first time and are considering using Sonic F/X for an event. We like to think of all visitors as potential clients.


Facebook Login

Facebook login is part of our site to facilitate site activities. It is for:
 (1) Clients who want to use the site for entering/updating their information and for scheduling and planning their events. Facebook login is required for clients who want to use the site for these reasons. Please not that you DO NOT need to be a member of Facebook to register for our site. We use Facebook login as a service, and this DOES NOT require that you be a Facebook member to participate. [THIS FEATURE WILL BE IMPLEMENTED SOON]
(2) Event Guests who want to use the site for making requests for an event. To do this, you need to either sign in with Facebook or have us generate a temporary Guest ID for you. We recommend logging in with Facebook so that you can make, update, and modify your requests from any computer / device that you may want to use.
(3) Site Visitors who would like to participate in a collaborative playlist. To do this, you need to either sign in with Facebook or have us generate a temporary Guest ID for you. We recommend logging in with Facebook so that you can make, update, and modify your requests from any computer / device that you may want to use.

Personal Information from Facebook
(1) Clients: So that we can contact you, we store your name, phone number, and email address
(2) Event Guests and Site Visitors: We do not store nor use any of your contact information.


Site Activity: Making Requests for an Event

This activity is for Clients and their Event Guests

Enabling Request Events
(a) Allowing guests to make requests for an event is an option. If as a client you DO NOT want guests to make requests, you choose to disable this feature.
(b) Clients can require a password to make requests if you want to limit those who can make requests [THIS FEATURE WILL BE IMPLEMENTED SOON]
(c) If your event is based on a special theme and you want to limit the types of songs that can be requested, you can choose a certain decade, year, or genre that will limit search results.

Making Requests for Events using Collaborative Playlists
(a) You must be logged in through Facebook or with a temporary Guest ID
(b) Select an Event
(c) Browse / Search our song collection (Keep in mind that an event may be based on special themes, limiting the song selection to certain decades, years or genres. You will not be able to see songs in search results that would not fit in with these events.)
(d) Select the check-marks next to each song that you want to hear
(e) Submit your selection(s)
(f) Browse / Search again

This activity will allow you to see the music in our collection that is available for any event


Site Activity: Collaborative Playlists

Collaborative playlists allow any site visitor to collaborate with others a certain playlist. These playlists can be for a specific event, or just for an event type.

Two Types of Collaborative Playlists
(a) For a specific event you will need an event id / password [See Making Requests]
(b) Generic Collaborative Playlists not tied to an event. You can find those [here]

The collaborative Process
(a) Collaborative playlists start with us suggesting the songs that belong in the playlist
(b) Must have chosen an event / Collaborative Playlist not tied to an event
(c) You have the ability to choose thumbs up, thumbs down, or "neutral" for each song. The numbers next to the thumbs up and thumbs down show how many people have chosen thumbs up or thumbs down.
(d) Once you have selected thumbs up or thumbs down, make sure you save your changes by clicking "Submit Changes"
(e) To add songs to a playlist, click [Add Songs] at the top of the list. You will then be able to browse, or search our music collection and select songs that should be added to the playlist
(f) To see a summary of how people have rated songs, click [View Score-Report]. This shows songs requested by you and other guests (eliminating songs suggested by the DJ). The score is the total thumbs up minus the total thumbs down.


Site Activity: Listen to our Winter 2013 Mix

This activity allows you to listen to a sample mix that we recorded live. The mix itself is about 75 minutes and should give you a good feel for the type and variety of music that we can play for an event. The musical focus in this mix is current music mixed with past favorites. We wanted to include as much as possible in a reasonable amount of time, so for this mix, many of the songs are cut very short. During a normal event the songs are generally played longer.


Site Activity: Sample Playlists

These playlists show examples of songs that we will play for the identified event type. By no means are we limited to these. As a client, we will work with you to play the music that you want played at your event, whether your event is similar or completely different to one that is listed here.
